When Callie first entered our facility, she came in after being abandoned by her owner in their garage. She was adopted and was returned because she does not get along with the other animals in the household. Callie needs a one animal household. She loves having her belly rubbed and would make a great addition to any family that is only wanting one animal.

Raven was brought to St. Francis CARE in October 2021 as a stray. She had barely any hair, and incredibly itchy, irritated skin. While we immediately began treating her symptoms, her skin made very little real progress. Once it was clear no owner was coming for her, we set about the task of finding the underlying cause of her hair loss and itchy skin. After multiple tests with no answers, we sent samples out for in depth allergy testing. Raven waited patiently for her results to come in. When they did, we were all blown away. RAVEN IS ALLERGIC TO EVERYTHING!
Now that we had the cause, it was time to find the cure. Turns out, with a special allergy food and a daily allergy pill, she slowly stopped itching and her beautiful hair started to grow back.
Since Raven has been here with us she has quickly become a shelter favorite & we have learned a lot about her. Raven does not like to share her time with other animals. She doesn't do well with the other dogs here and she doesn't seem to like cats either. One may say, it's a blessing in disguise as she's allergic to them anyway.
Raven is a 10 year old baby. She loves human attention, especially belly rubs. Raven now spends most of her days in our front office just hanging out with our receptionists and greeting the public. Raven knows several tricks and will let you know when she has to go out to potty. After everything Raven has been through, she is now ready to find her furever home. Where she will be loved and spoiled.

Hi. I am Birdie. Some folks say I'm shy. I think I'm expected to act like other Labs, that's part of my genes. But, right now I don’t. Don’t get me wrong, I would like to be like my sister Bobbie, you know, bouncy, perky, always up for life’s hustle and bustle. I'm more reserved.
So, I have been thinking, a little canine self-diagnosis if you will. I was born mid-October 2021; then taken to a shelter, and Jan 2022 we cam to St. Francis. In our first 3 months, my sister and I were living in our third shelter. In February 2022 Bobbie was adopted. Another change and now I am by myself. As of this writing I am a year old and feel like I was never given a chance to be a puppy, to form an attachment with a loving human in a forever home.
Don’t think I am not appreciative of the people at St Francis CARE. I am glad to have a place that is safe. I am treated well and I really like playing with the other dogs, But, I think I would blossom if I lived in a trusting stable home where I was appreciated for me.
So maybe I am a little shy, a little reserved, but, I bet that would change if I was with my own hooman.

Gavin is part of a litter of 4 that was brought to St. Francis CARE after being found left in a barn way out in the country. These pups were very thin and extremely scared. They have been here with us since late January. In that time they have gained weight and started to feel comfortable in their own skin. These pups love to play and goof around. They can't seem to get enough love from their caretakers. Gavin is still a little nervous with new spaces and people but it doesn't take him long to warm up. He's sweet as can be and loves to play ball!
Gavin's adoption fee is only $150 and includes his neuter, microchip and vaccines. If you are interested in adopting Gavin, please apply at www.stfrancis-care.org/adopt. Once you are approved, we will call you to set up a time for you to come in and meet him.

Hi! My name is Sasha. I'm a young adult mixed breed, bundle of love. My momma, siblings, & I were transferred to St. Francis from an animal control center when I was just 2 wks old.
As soon as I was old enough, I was adopted. YAY! Sadly, a year and a half later, I was returned when my family moved & decided I couldn't go along. BOO!
Shortly after, I was adopted a 2nd time. YAY!
A few short months later my hoomom found she didn't have enough time to give me the love & attention I deserve. So, once again, I was returned to St. Francis. BOO!
In spite of the setbacks, I'm a sweet, happy girl, who is looking forward to finding her furever home where I can get loads of love & attention. I wouldn't mind a home with older children. I haven't had the opportunity to meet any littles. I would do best in a home with no chickens nearby or, a fence to keep us apart. I went on a home visit once, where the neighbors had chickens. Unfortunately, it was just too tempting for me to stay away from them.
I recently found out I have a SECRET ADMIRER! How cool is that?! They have generously donated a 6-month supply of Heartworm meds to go home with me when I am adopted!
I would love the opportunity to meet you, so we can see if we are a perfect fit. If you're interested, please apply here:

Meet Otis!
Otis was originally brought to SFC in 2019. He was adopted shortly after and lived a nice life with an elderly man who loved him dearly. Unfortunately, the gentleman who adopted him became very ill and had to face some major medical procedures, so he had to bring Otis back to the shelter. It broke his heart but knew that this was the best option for Otis. Otis is almost 8 years old and only weighs 14 pounds. Otis is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
If you are interested in adopting Otis, please apply at www.stfrancis-care.org/adopt. Once you are approved, we will contact you to set up a time to come in and meet him.
